  • Must have significant experience advising Fortune 500 companies on strategy, ERP tool selection (ERP-agnostic), and implementation
  • Strong background in building out program roadmaps and serving as the lead
  • This role is onsite in Dallas
  • Proficiency in FI, CO, HCM, SPM , and HR back-office systems is required

*You will work closely with executive leadership team from the beginning and act as the Expert / Advisor lead in the room. Additionally, you'll be responsible for building a team of business management consulting professionals shaping the ERP program.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Information Officer (CIO) Strategist with specialized expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The CIO Strategist will play a critical role in shaping the technology direction of the organization, focusing on aligning IT initiatives with business objectives, driving digital transformation, and optimizing ERP solutions. This strategic leadership position requires deep technical knowledge, particularly in ERP systems, along with strong business acumen and the ability to influence executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the IT strategy and vision for the organization, ensuring alignment with business goals. Collaborate with senior leadership to define technology-driven business objectives, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
  • ERP Strategy & Optimization: Spearhead the selection, implementation, and ongoing optimization of the ERP system to support key business processes. Ensure that the ERP system aligns with organizational needs and provides maximum value across departments such as finance, HR, supply chain, and production.
  • Digital Transformation: Lead digital transformation initiatives, leveraging ERP and other innovative technologies to streamline business operations, improve decision-making, and enhance customer experience. Drive the transition to cloud-based ERP solutions and other emerging technologies as part of a modern IT infrastructure.
  • Project Oversight: Provide leadership and guidance on large-scale ERP implementation or upgrade projects. Manage cross-functional project teams, ensure adherence to timelines and budgets, and ensure successful ERP integration with other business systems.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison between the IT department and key business stakeholders. Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for executives, ensuring IT strategies are aligned with broader organizational priorities.
  • Risk Management & Security: Oversee the security and integrity of all IT systems, including the ERP platform. Work closely with the security and compliance teams to ensure that the ERP system meets regulatory requirements and adheres to best practices in data protection and risk management.
  • Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement: Establish KPIs and metrics to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of ERP systems. Continuously analyze system performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive enhancements that lead to operational efficiencies.
  • Vendor Management: Lead relationships with ERP vendors and third-party service providers. Negotiate contracts, manage service-level agreements (SLAs), and ensure that external partners deliver quality support and services that align with organizational goals.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions for ERP systems and other technology initiatives. Monitor spending and provide regular reports to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in ERP solutions (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a senior IT leadership role, with a proven track record of managing and optimizing ERP systems.
  • Extensive experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite) and deep understanding of their implementation and ongoing optimization.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale digital transformation and ERP integration projects across multiple business functions.
  • Strong business process knowledge across key areas such as finance, supply chain, HR, and manufacturing.
  • Skills:
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on aligning technology solutions with business needs.
  • Expertise in ERP system architecture, cloud-based solutions, and emerging technologies in the ERP space.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, and compliance standards, particularly in the context of ERP systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, prioritize initiatives, and manage resources effectively.
  • Vendor management experience, including negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
  • Financial management experience, including budgeting, cost management, and return on investment analysis.
  • Certifications (preferred):
  • ERP-related certifications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • ITIL Certification or similar IT service management certifications.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification.
