Communications Specialist Psych-Core-Rsch Full Time 82077BR Job Summary Responsible for managing the communications of a UCSF-based pediatric mental health access program that is expanding statewide to include satellite partner sites across California. The program is based with the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This includes all or most of the following functions: Independently oversees a comprehensive communications program for a unit or school with moderately complex communications requirements. The communications program usually includes written, visual, digital, electronic and social media communications. Works with management to develop and execute organizational communication and market branding strategy. Designs and implements information campaigns. The University of California San Francisco will develop and implement California's Child Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) Behavioral Health (BH) Consult Program, as part of the state's Master Plan for Kids' Mental Health. The BH Consult Program aims to advance health equity by increasing access to quality, evidence-based, culturally responsive mental and behavioral health care for all of California's children and youth 0-25. Through consultation, education and training, primary care providers will deepen and expand their knowledge, skills and confidence in addressing behavioral health needs in accessible, lower stigma primary care settings. The statewide program is a substantial expansion of UCSF's Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Portal, a pediatric mental health access program established in 2019. Expansion will include establishing additional partner satellite hub sites throughout California, developing partnerships with professional clinical training programs i.e. pediatric and family medicine residency, child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship, nurse practitioner, social work, public health and other related training programs. Part of the program's near-term expansion includes development of a novel tech-enabled consultation platform. The team is currently comprised of multiple physician, psychologist and social work staff who provide consultation, training and care coordination. The Communication Manager's duties include developing, and implementing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, multi-stakeholder, multi-site Cal-MAP initial marketing and ongoing communications and engagement activities; and, working with the Cal-MAP Director of Operations and Cal-MAP Director, aligning expansion communications across Cal-MAP, UCSF, UC and multiple partner satellite sites. Will execute promotion and engagement strategy plan to enable rapid and robust user recognition of and engagement with Cal-MAP. Expected to manage the work, outputs and conduct of any additionally contracted marketing firm, with regular report-outs to Director of Operations and Program Director. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $79,000 - $127,200 (Annual Rate). Knowledge and understanding of technical applications to effectively direct technical staff, or personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applications. Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and / or broad general audiences. Knowledge of location protocols and channels for communication internally and externally. Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the organization, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and a strong knowledge of current affairs, and issues in higher education and / or health sciences. Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and short term strategic communications plans. Experience working in higher education or programs with statewide reach. Experience working in healthcare, with primary care physicians and other primary health care providers.
