The Crime Analyst (CA) I is the primary position in the Fingerprint Rolling Certification Program and is responsible for all technical functions related to the task of certifying non-exempted individuals who take fingerprint impressions. The CA I’s tasks include, but are not limited to, the following: reviews and processes incoming applications for certification; reviews Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal offender record information responses to determine eligibility; revokes or suspends fingerprint roller certifications due to corresponding disqualifying offenses on subsequent arrest notifications; performs data entry; conducts problem resolution; and responds to telephone and written inquiries.
The CA I must have a working knowledge of the Automated Criminal History System, and the applicant review process. The CA I must have a thorough understanding of the laws and regulations relating to the Fingerprint Rolling Certification Program.
