Job Description

Our client, a leader in the transportation industry is currently looking for a Director, HRIS & Benefits. The Director, HRIS & Benefits will lead critical human capital systems and benefits strategy for a 2,000+ employee, multi-state workforce. This role oversees the optimization of UKG systems, benefits administration, and people analytics to support data-driven decision-making. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Director will play a key role in aligning technology and people strategies with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HRIS/UKG roadmap and drive optimization efforts aligned with business and HR objectives
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance HCM capabilities and recommend process improvements, automation, and technology integrations
  • Develop enterprise-wide analytics and dashboards to support workforce planning
  • Deliver actionable insights through data analysis and trend reporting
  • Collaborate with benefits brokers to manage high-touch, high-impact benefits offerings
  • Manage and mentor a small team focused on HRIS and benefits administration
  • Align people strategies with company-wide business goals
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Legal, and People teams to advance initiatives
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of HR/payroll reporting and analytics
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HRIS vendors and issue resolution
  • Troubleshoot system issues and manage UKG ticket submissions
  • Lead internal training, file feed integrations, and vendor coordination
  • Support M&A projects and other key HR initiatives
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure secure handling of employee data

Qualifications:

  • 8–10 years of HRIS and benefits experience with a focus on UKG Pro and WFM
  • Strong background in HRIS databases and timekeeping systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, V-lookups)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft BI dashboards and accounting principles
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage, tax, and leave laws
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a small team
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for acquisitions or company events
