Director of Special Events
Full Time | Days and some Evenings included| Monday-Friday | 8:30am-5pm | Hybrid/Remote
** Minimum salary starting at $105,400/year; based on experience**

The Director of Special Events creates, plans and organizes a portfolio of mission-centered, donor-cultivation events and prospects high-impact donors for fundraising activities.
Requirements for a Director of Special Events:
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, business, marketing, or related field.
- 5-7 years of peer-to-peer event management experience in leading large, successful fundraising events.
- Proven track record of logistical and risk management experience.
- Exceptional knowledge of fundraising principles involving peer-to-peer events, including but not limited to team development, committee leadership, sponsorship, etc.
- Passion for serving seniors and their families.
- Bloomerang experience is preferred.
- Ability to navigate and use the computer programs of the department including but not limited to MS Office, Outlook, and Constituent Relationship Management system.
Responsibilities for a Director of Special Events:
- Creates, plans and organizes a portfolio of mission-centered, donor cultivation events and prospects high-impact donors for fundraising activities.
- Creates and implements an innovative annual strategic fundraising plan. Periodically adjusts and revises plan as appropriate to ensure the team exceeds all revenue goals.
- Identifies, develops, and maintains strong relationships with donors, fundraisers, supporters, volunteers, and community partners. Employs personalized communication and outreach efforts in order to accomplish these objectives.
- Develops sponsorship proposals and actively recruits prospective corporate partners in order to facilitate the financial success of the events.
- Utilizes resources and coordinates with our Communications team to produce fundraising materials, recruitment, donor recognition and fundraising incentives, and promotional campaigns.
- Implements all logistics needed to produce successful fundraising events. Gives special attention to the safety of participants, volunteers, and staff. Coordinate any needed law enforcement support, procurement of permits, licenses, etc.
- Utilizes internal and external constituent management database to manage all fundraising activities. Keeps track of financials and moves management.
- Stays informed regarding best practices in philanthropy and fundraising and proactively seeks opportunities for personal professional development and organizational growth.
