Job Description
We are seeking a Driver Helper to join our team! You will assist a truck driver in loading, unloading, and securing cargo, primarily within the "Just-In-Time" (JIT) delivery model, which requires precise timing and efficiency to meet customer demands; key responsibilities include physically handling goods, navigating delivery locations, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and adhering to strict safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Loading and Unloading Cargo:
Efficiently loading and unloading merchandise from the truck using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other lifting equipment, ensuring proper placement and securing of items to prevent damage.
Cargo Organization:
Assisting the driver in organizing cargo within the truck to optimize space and facilitate quick delivery.
Delivery Assistance:
Helping the driver navigate to delivery locations, verifying addresses, and assisting with customer interactions when necessary.
Safety Compliance:
Following all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques, wearing safety gear, and adhering to DOT guidelines.
Paperwork and Documentation:
Completing necessary paperwork related to deliveries, including verifying counts and signatures.
