Bobby Pages Dry Cleaners is a full service, top quality dry cleaners that operates in high volume. We are family owned and operated who are very involved in daily production. We are currently looking for experienced, long term minded pressers to join our business. The position entails pressing a wide variety of clothing including gowns, dress pants, button down blouses and shirts, sweaters, sport coats, etc. This is a full time position, Monday through Friday, approximately 6:00am-2:30. There will be overtime opportunities during our busier seasons.

This is a high paced job that requires attention to detail. Bobby Pages is a very team oriented, friendly, family working environment. Pay is dependent upon experience, and for individuals that do not have experience, we do offer paid training! Training consists of video demonstration, hands on learning, and job shadowing.

For full time employees we offer medical, dental, and vision insurance. We also provide accrued paid time off, 40 hours per year!

What do Textile and Garment Pressers do?

Shape and press articles by hand or machine.

What tasks do Textile and Garment Pressers perform?

The presser operates steam, hydraulic, or other pressing machines to remove wrinkles from garments and flatwork items. They can also shape and form articles of clothing.

The presser removes the item from the machine, hangs or folds the item on a hanger and sends the textile down the line to be bagged.

What do Textile and Garment Pressers need to know?

Knowledge of principles and processes to provide excellent handling of all textiles resulting in meeting quality standards. This includes meeting customer needs (following specific instructions located on garment), techniques in pressing to maximize efficiency in pressing, and general care of textiles to prevent damaging any garments.

Pressers must know safety techniques and requirements to use steam machines prior to use.

English Language

Must be able to read and speak the English language.

 

What you will be doing:

• Operating steam, hydraulic, or other pressing machines to remove wrinkles from garments and flatwork items
• Straighten, smooth, or shape materials to prepare them for pressing
• Press and shape articles of clothing by hand or machine
• Finish pleated and other garments such as suits, costumes and gowns
• Pressers must accurately , but efficiently iron and press by machine or hand according to established quality standards.

Knowledge Requirements:

• Basic knowledge and mechanics of dry cleaning pressing machines
• Basic knowledge of fabrics, heat limitations, and care instructions
• General knowledge of pressing techniques for all types of garments including gowns, suits, dresses, pants, and shirts of all types
• This is a skills based position. We do not require a high school diploma for this position. However, you must meet the skills requirement to continue employment.

Requirements for Position:

• Positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (8 hour shift minus breaks/lunch)
• Attention to detail
• Work well as part of a team as well as independently
• Ability to endure working in a hot and humid environment
• Must be consistently reliable. Showing up to scheduled shifts and clocking in on time is mandatory.
• Must be able to recognize common spots and stains
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment without compromising quality
• Must meet established quality control numbers. This is a high paced job.
