Here's what you'll do on a typical day...

Sales Floor Operations: Is a constant presence on the sales floor helping customers. Is actively selling Tomlinson’s core products and working hard to always hit sales goals.

  • Spends the vast majority of shift on the sales floor:
  • Building rapport with both customers and sales staff.
  • Assuring that customer service and satisfaction exceeds our clients’ expectations
  • Unloading shipments, rotating stock, assisting in maintaining an inspection ready store.
  • Acting as an example and coach to the sales staff.
  • Promotes and maintains the company’s reputation, culture, & vision while building relationships among customers & staff.

Maintains Inventory: Assists in keeping the store fully in-stock at all times.

  • Assists in inventory management including receiving, cycle counts, processing purchase orders, pricing, and stockroom management.
  • Works under the direction of the Store Manager and Merchandising Manager to keep inventory visually appealing, merchandised to maximize sales, and featuring core products.

Training: Responsible for executing training programs that adhere to and promote Tomlinson’s brand and desired culture, overseeing the education of new team members, and training existing team members on new products or processes. Communicates performance metrics during new hire training, evaluates productivity, and helps new hires ramp up knowledge of products and procedures.

  • Is scheduled alongside and trains any new hire for his/her first 5 shifts.
  • Trains all new hires on products, processes, and customer service in accordance with Tomlinson’s Training Program.
  • Educates through the Tell, Show, Do, Review process.
  • Evaluates every new hire’s training progress throughout the learning program.
  • Emphasizes or retrains on any topics necessary until your new hire meets knowledge standards.
  • Assits with training existing team members on products, and new processes being implemented company-wide.
  • Recognizes opportunity or need for refreshment training among existing team members on core products and processes.

Store Appearance: Ensures store’s always aesthetically in compliance with Tomlinson’s Brand Standards.

  • Maintains an aesthetically appealing store by keeping it well lit, well stocked, clean and clutter-free, and by making sure it is a warm and welcoming place to shop.
  • Maintains an inspection-ready store at all times, but especially on given inspection dates.

Communications: Is in constant communication with Store Manager regarding store operations & needs.

  • Communicates pertinent information in a timely manner to the Store Manager to make sure issues are dealt with appropriately.
  • Attends all required store meetings and trainings.

Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises a staff that meets Tomlinson’s Brand Standards.Fosters respect and cooperation with company policies and procedures by leading with integrity and poise.

  • Oversees operational functions in the absence of store management.
  • In absence of store management, opens and/or closes the store in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Maintains constant possession of store key for opening and closing duties.
Requirements:
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis in order to stock the store and to do carry-outs for customers. This is an active role which requires you to be on your feet for the majority of your shift.
  • Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
