Exciting Summer Internship Opportunity at Heatherwood!

We are excited to announce that Heatherwood, the premier Developer/Owner/Operator of Multifamily & mixed-use communities on Long Island, is now offering summer internships to college students and graduates. The purpose of our internship program is to expose talented candidates to projects, mentorship, and on-the-job experience in the Real Estate world. This program allows our company to invest in our future generation as well as in our own future success by perhaps discovering new talent and future leaders.

Requirements:

What You’ll Do:

As an intern at Heatherwood, you’ll dive deep into the world of multifamily real estate, working on real projects and collaborating with experts in the field. Over the course of our 9-week internship (running from June 2nd to August 1st ), you’ll rotate through key areas of our business and gain exposure to everything that makes us successful:

  • Development & Construction : Get hands-on experience at one of our active construction sites and see a project come to life.
  • Leasing & Property Management : Visit our properties and get a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day operations of multifamily leasing.
  • Finance & Accounting : Analyze financial reports, track trends, and discover how we manage the numbers behind the business.
  • Asset Management : Learn about the strategies we’ve used to manage a diverse and growing real estate portfolio for over 60 years.

Throughout the internship, you’ll work closely with seasoned professionals who will guide you and provide mentorship, while giving you real-world challenges to solve. It’s an invaluable opportunity to network, learn, and grow in the exciting world of real estate.

Required Qualifications:

  • You’ve completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework toward a bachelor’s degree (Real Estate, Hospitality, Construction, Finance, Legal, or related fields are a plus!).
  • You have a strong academic record (preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher).
  • You have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with others.
  • You’re proactive, eager to learn, and ready to take on meaningful projects.
  • You have your own transportation (travel within Long Island, Queens, and Brooklyn may be required).
