Job Description

A well-established locally owned manufacturer is seeking an HR Generalist for their small Jeffersonville, IN company. The HR Generalist will report to the Controller and be the first point of contact for team members. This is an exciting opportunity to expand and revise HR for the organization as the first full-time HR person. In addition to competitive compensation ($70k – $80k with up to 10% bonus), the company provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, dental, vision, and 401K w/match. One day working from home weekly is possible after the training period. Highlighted Duties:

• The first point of HR contact to employees working closely with managers
• Employee engagement & retention
• Recruiting, job fairs, and onboarding
• Employee relations including conflict resolution and investigations
• Benefit administration includes leaves of absence, open enrollment, and troubleshooting issues
• Payroll processing with Paycor (75 employees)
• Employee training and development
• HR key performance data analysis and reporting
• Ensure all company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations are followed
• HR administrative duties including HR recordkeeping and scheduling (interviews, HR events)
• Coordination with vendors, insurance brokers, and carriers
• Nurture a positive, continued improvement, and safety-focused work environment

Highlighted Requirements:

• 5+ years of broad-based and progressive HR experience at a small to mid-sized company
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred (or in the process)
• Experience recruiting and onboarding new hires
• Current knowledge of relevant state and federal employment laws and regulations
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel
• Payroll experience (company uses Paycor)
• Ability to present information and engage a large group
• Excellent written, oral, listening, influence, and interpersonal skills
• Must have exceptional time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Motivated; self-directed individual 
• The following experience would be a plus but is not required: bilingual (English/Spanish), safety, and light bookkeeping (to support accounting if needed)
