Description The HVAC Apprentice is versatile in several areas and executes many tasks in a day. He/she carries out a wide range of duties as directed by the Master HVAC Specialist, which include maintenance on buildings and general repair. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion. - Perform general HVAC maintenance duties, (clean coils, change filters, belts, speed taps,
- clean drain pans, etc.)
- Willing to learn to work on HVAC equipment of varying size and complexity
- Assist with running duct work, in attics and crawl spaces, and in basements (any unconditioned or confined space)
- Willing to work on walk-in freezers and coolers varying in size
- Learn to Understand lock out tag out and safety while working on equipment
- Must be versatile in work assignments and flexible in execution of assignments
- Must be able to follow instructions, and change things as needed when
- problems arise
- Must understand that safety is priority for themselves as well as others in the maintenance
- team and AIG employees and guests
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

- Ability to begin to work independently
- Must be able to work under pressure and around people at times
- Works well with others, regularly work with a partner and able to finish jobs in a timely manner
- Ability to lift 80 pounds or more and required to bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to climb ladders and without fear of heights and able to crawl in small locations, and work in awkward positions.
- Ability to use basic tools and identify basic hand tools
- Willing to learn to use multimeter to check amps, voltage, ohms, and mil. volts
- Have basic skills with computers, willing to learn Building Management System
- Available to work combination of shifts, Morning, Evening, Weekend, and occasional call-ins for Emergency situations.
