Oncology Consultants has been a premier adult medical oncology & hematology practice in Houston, TX, for over 40 years. Our healthcare team is committed to providing state-of-the-art cancer treatment in a caring environment as we expand our oncology services in the Memorial City location.

About the Position:

 

This position is responsible for adhering to and performing all Oncology Consultants PA billing procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing and reviewing daily superbills/charges for all practice locations assigned. Manage and review all incoming charges received and make necessary billing edits. Upon review, release charges/transactions for processing into RCM software and handle transaction failures/errors for correction. Review and manage all transactions on hold or in progress status due to variances in procedure transaction processing/ or held due to rules and/or edits defined. When needed, enter manual charge for a patient account.
  • Responsible for adhering to and performing all Oncology Consultants PA billing procedures, including posting new charges promptly and accurately.
  • Responsible for reviewing and managing claim errors for approved failed or any missing information on patient accounts and/or holding claims and/or transactions for account and/or statement generation.
  • Responsible for managing transaction reconciliation for missing superbills/charges.
  • Responsible for monitoring, working, and updating claims with any charge discrepancies. Utilize appropriate daily status reports.
  • Participate and assist reviews with claim edits for possible enhancement and/or make recommendations to the Management.
  • Maintains and stays current on Billing guidelines or changes in Medical/Clinical policies. · Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
  • Responsible for adhering to established Company rules and policies.
  • Openly communicate trends/changes/updates with other charge review team members other appropriate departments under directions of the Billing Supervisor/Management

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High level of organizational skills including: 1) Time Management, 2) high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, 3) Project management/organization
  • Knowledge of Oncology, Imaging and Radiation specialty and terminology preferred.
  • Computer skills required: 1) Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2) EHR, 3) Revenue Cycle Management software. · Willingness and ability to work with new software as it becomes necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills. Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records and data entry skills along with an aptitude for numbers.
  • Solid understanding of basic RCM, accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations · Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • 2+ years of experience in billing/revenue cycle management

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Verbal and written communication skills
