About the Job
The Process Quality Engineer oversees production quality control, implementing assurance activities, monitoring tools like SPC and FAI, and managing rework and equipment qualification. They support audits, identify risks, lead improvements, handle process changes, and train PQE technicians, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Essential Functions
  • Be responsible for quality management and control of the production line processes.
  • Ensure all quality-related activities are performed effectively and in compliance with company standards and requirements.
  • Monitor and manage quality activities including SPC (Statistical Process Control), FAI (First
  • Article Inspection), MES (Manufacturing Execution System) inspection, FIFO (First In, First Out), error proofing, rework, and equipment qualification.
  • Support various process audits, including process audits and LPA (Layered Process Audit) audits.
  • Conduct quality risk identification and initiate quality improvement activities.
  • Manage changes in the production process and ensure effective implementation of process response plans.
  • Provide training and support to enhance the PQE technicians' overall competency.

     
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in production quality control or quality assurance, particularly in the vehicle manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the basic principles of battery operations.
  • Familiarity with the basic characteristics of communication faults and mechanical structure failure.
  • Proficiency in product failure analysis methods.
  • Proficient in using quality analysis and improvement tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), 8D (8 Disciplines Problem Solving), Six
  • Sigma, and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Strong data analysis and processing abilities.
  • Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance is required for this position.
  • Ability to interact professionally with individuals of varied backgrounds and skill levels.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move around work sites, which may include walking, standing, and climbing ladders or stairs.
  • Flexibility to bend, kneel, or crouch, particularly when inspecting installations or troubleshooting.
  • Capability to lift and carry moderate weights, typically up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting of heavier items may be required.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including offices, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various job sites, which may require driving or other forms of transportation
