LHH is seeking a Production Scheduler for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located 30 minutes West of Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules, managing manpower, determining production capacity, and ensuring the timely and efficient production of in-demand products. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $70,000-80,000 per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive medical insurance options, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands and production targets
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure that schedules are realistic and achievable
  • Anticipate planning based on customer prior year purchases, forecasted orders, and current stock levels
  • Confirm accurate stock levels of all raw materials & packaging components are in place before adding to production schedule
  • Convey new sales orders to Operations team and ensure the production schedule can meet lead times
  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to address any delays or issues
  • Assist the Production Manager in leading the Planning meetings with each department manager prior to production shifts
  • Collaborate with the material planning team to ensure that materials are available for production
  • Prepare and present reports on production status, schedule adherence, and performance metrics
  • Implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce lead times
  • Responsible for the development and accuracy of inventory management reports
  • Manage change, inventory control, financial analysis and ensure proper distribution of inventory for any discontinued, damaged and/or obsolete inventory items
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred
  • Minimum of three years of production planning and/or production scheduling experience within a manufacturing setting is required
  • Preference toward candidates with manufacturing experience within an industrial environment with multiple production lines
  • Ideal candidates will possess a Six Sigma Belt and/or APICS certification (but not required)
  • Must be a self-motivated worker who is results-driven
  • Must be a natural problem-solver who possesses excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of value streams, cost drivers, and core components of cost structures
