Tandem Foods is a leading contract manufacturer of private - label nutrition bars, protein bars, chocolate molded products and baked goods. We are looking for an energetic, creative Production Supervisor to join our team. The position is responsible for leading the production activities across multiple production lines. This is a great role for a candidate looking to make a significant impact in developing and growing a dynamic organization. The position provides overall shift leadership to the production team focusing on delivering on key safety, quality, delivery and cost standards.

Definition of Success

Active management of the shift in the production facility that emphasizes employee engagement, training/development and continuous improvement to deliver sustainable results against the goals of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety through leadership, work procedures and employee safety programs
  • Foster a collaborative working environment across all functions of the business
  • Collaborate with Quality and Sanitation departments to assure all good manufacturing and food safety practices are followed and a priority
  • Coach, mentor and train production line supervision, leads and employees
  • Manage resources including people, equipment and materials to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards
  • Lead cost management initiatives using KPI's / OEE monitoring systems
  • Identify / develop / implement continuous improvement action plans
  • Optimize production scheduling / resource planning
  • Manage work in process inventory through employee practices and ERP system
  • Work closely with Director of Manufacturing to drive continuous improvement, efficiencies and LEAN processes
  • Support capital project initiatives

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in engineering, operations, supply chain or business administration or equivalent experience
  • 3 - 5 years experience in a manufacturing facility, food manufacturing preferred
  • 3 - 5 years experience in a supervisory or management position
  • Experience working in BRC or SQF environments preferred
  • Financial acumen
  • Green belt or black belt certification preferred
  • ERP / OEE system experience preferred
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
