Sr. Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer

Location: Berkeley, CA (or San Francisco, CA)

Compensation: $165,000 - $200,000 per year + Sign-On Bonus + Paid Relocation + Full Benefits

Position Overview

Join a prestigious medical center in Berkeley, CA, as a Sr. Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer , playing a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care through diagnostic imaging. This full-time position requires flexibility to rotate between various medical center locations, work variable shifts, and provide weekend and holiday coverage as needed.

As a Sr. Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will perform advanced diagnostic imaging procedures, prepare patients for exams, and ensure optimal imaging quality for physician interpretation. This role also includes responsibilities for equipment maintenance, patient preparation, and adherence to professional standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnostic Imaging: Perform diagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
• Patient Care: Obtain patient clinical information, prepare patients for imaging, and ensure comfort and safety during procedures.
• Technical Excellence:
  • Prepare, operate, and maintain imaging equipment.
  • Perform and critique diagnostic studies, identifying sub-optimal techniques or equipment malfunctions.
  • Conduct portable exams and assist in transporting patients as needed.
• Credential Maintenance: Maintain ARDMS credentials in accordance with American Registry standards.
• Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
• Flexible Scheduling: Rotate shifts, provide on-call support, and work across various medical center locations.

Qualifications

Required:

• ARDMS credentials in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography .
• Graduate of a CAHEEP-accredited ultrasound program.
• BLS Certification.
• 2-5 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or equivalent in a similar ultrasound department.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and provide on-call coverage.

Preferred:

• Experience in pediatrics, OB imaging, thyroid, kidney, liver, pancreas, and sterile procedures.
• Hospital and transplant imaging experience.
• Team-oriented with strong leadership, adaptability, and communication skills.
