The technician assists clients and the internal support team to resolve day-to-day issues that come up on servers and networking equipment such as Windows Servers, Exchange servers, Office 365, and other equipment like firewalls, wireless Access Points, Routers switches.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required. A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Systems Administrator required .
Responsibilities: - Testing hardware
- Recycling and storing older hardware
- Wipe old computers
- Ability to install Windows operating system (Windows 10)
- Installation of drivers/peripherals/components
- Working with email clients (Outlook)
- Connect and verify network communication for workstations
- Installation of Windows Applications
- Updating Software programs
- Setting up email clients for Exchange or Office 365
- Configuring computers to access wireless networks
- Setting up printers
- Ability to join a computer to a Windows domain
- Troubleshooting Software
- Working with computers joined to a Windows Domain
- NOC and Patch Management
- Troubleshooting email issues on the client-side

- Creating users in Active Directory
- Creating mailboxes in Exchange and Office 365

- Troubleshooting Windows Services
- Setup NIC Teams based on vendor software/drivers
- Setting up DNS zones in Windows DNS
- Configuring Windows Firewall Policies
- Remote Desktop Services
- Manage and provide access for RDS users
- Configure Session Collections
- Create and Provision Published Applications
- Install / Manage RDS Licensing Servers
- Microsoft Exchange Server (2010 and later)
- Create User Mailboxes
- Create and provision Shared Mailboxes

- Configure OWA Access
- Provision SSL Certificates for OWA
- Configure Split DNS in the domain for routable domains
- Migrate Users to other databases

- Troubleshoot Client Connectivity Issues

- Proper Mailbox Deletion and cleanup
- Extensive Knowledge of troubleshooting SMTP issues
- External Domain and SSL Certificates
- Manage External Domains
- Provision External Domains
- Manage External DNS
- Knowledge of DNS Records to provision Internet Services
- Configure MX Records, A Records, CNAME Records
- Generate CSR to create new SSL Certificates
- Installation of SSL Certificates on Windows/Linux
- Installation of SSL Certificates for Microsoft Exchange
- Configure Split DNS Records for external FQDNs on Windows Internal DNS
- Backup Solutions
- Configuration and management of backup solutions
- Backup Solutions on the cloud
- Networking
- Extensive knowledge on how TCP/IP works
- Switching
- Routing
- Private and Public IP Schemes
- WAN provisioning
- Working with ISP to provide Internet connectivity
- Understanding of the OSI Model
- Troubleshoot network related issues (IP, subnet, routing, etc)
- Provision VPN Tunnels
- Troubleshoot issues with VPN tunnels, understand IKE/IPSEC phases
- Knowledge of Structured Cabling
- Setup ISP Devices in bridge mode
- Manage Network devices via web or serial interfaces
- Knowledge on working with security appliances preferably WatchGuard
- Understanding of security zones: Trusted/Internal, DMZ, External/Untrusted
- Understanding of how traffic is Translated for outbound communication and how to apply custom NAT policies to assign outbound traffic to specific public IP addresses
- Provision WAN or Multi-WAN links on security appliances
- Configuring NAT policies for inbound services
- Manage and configure Web Content Filtering based on content categories and specific URL exclusions
- Provision SMTP services for internal email servers
- Remote Management
- Client to Site VPN solutions (IPSEC, SSL, PPTP)
- Wi-Fi deployment

- Configuration of RAID Arrays
- Replacing Hard drives and other server components
- Office 365
- Provision new clients on Office 365
- Manage Mailboxes and other email objects in Office 365

Education and Experience: - Microsoft Windows 10 MD-100/MD-101
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or Higher Certification
- WatchGuard Security Essentials
- Advanced Microsoft Windows Server Certification
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
