Job Description

A financial institution in New York City is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new Trading Assistant to their team to support an ETF desk.



Responsibilities:


The Trading Assistant will:

• Assist the Traders with executing trades in various financial instruments such as equities, bonds, derivatives, and currencies
• Monitor and manage trade settlements, ensuring all trades are accurately processed and settled in a timely manner
• Handle trade confirmations, reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies
• Conduct research and provide analysis on market trends, economic data, and financial news to support trading decisions
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on market activities and trading performance
• Monitor and report on trading positions and risks, ensuring compliance with risk management policies
• Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies
• Ensure all trading activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory reporting and audits
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in Trade Support and/or similar role
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience with Domestic ETF block desks
• Familiarity with Financial Markets & Instruments
• Proficiency in trading platforms and software (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, FIX Protocol).
• Experience in Data Analysis tools (e.g., Excel, VBA, SQL)
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

Desired Skills:

• Advanced Degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, Series 7 & 63)
• Solid understanding of Financial regulations and Compliance requirements affecting Trading activities
• Knowledge of the Regulatory environment in the U.S. Financial Markets
